Haiti Orphan Foundation
Haiti Orphan Foundation exists to glorify God by ministering to the vulnerable and orphaned children of Haiti.
Our Mission
It is estimated there are between 143 million and 210 million orphans worldwide and when considering children that live as orphans because their parents cannot afford to care for them, this astounding number skyrockets even higher. The Haiti Orphan Foundation is a small group of ordinary people who by God’s great love are compelled to do something to address this appalling problem. More than meeting physical needs and caring for the vulnerable, HOF is committed to supporting homes for children that will bring the love of God to spiritually hungry children and disciple them in the truths of God’s word.
How We Help
We believe in the power and mission of the local church to meet the physical, spiritual, and relational needs of the community. Because of this, the mission of Haiti Orphan Foundation is accomplished through supporting the local church and pastors in Haiti as they fulfill their calling to care for vulnerable and orphaned children in their communities. While HOF is involved in a number of ministries to the community (ie. medical clinics, orphan prevention initiatives, etc.) the focus of our work is through the GRACE CHILDREN’S HOME orphanage. We provides our ministry partner with encouragement, administrative resources, and funding to ensure the children of GCH are cared for in the following ways:
Food
The children will have clean and safe drinking water. They will also be provided three (3) nutritious meals a day. Meals will consist of such foods as rice, beans, chicken, goat, and vegetables. In addition to meals, children will be given vitamins and nutrition suppliements as needed. The Grace Children's Home will have a full-time cook that will oversee all meals and nutrition.
Education
All children of entry level age and above will begin school at Grace Christian Academy. Children will wear a school uniform and will receive a quality academic and Biblical education. Grace Christian School is run by Grace Assembly Church and is an accredited school with 157 students and 9 teachers.
Healthcare
Adequate healthcare is a concern for many in Haiti. Haiti Orphan Foundation has contracted with a local doctor (director of Double Harvest Hospital) to provide for the medical care of the children. Each child will receive periodic examinations by this doctor in the home. Double Harvest Hospital will also provide for any emergency care or treatment for sickness.
discipleship
We desire for each child to discover and live God's best for their lives. This is only done through a personal relationship with God and a biblical worldview. Daily Bible teaching, worship, and prayer is the norm at Grace Children's Home. Christian staff and House Parents model for the kids authentic Christian living. The children are also active members of Grace Assembly Church, where they worship and serve.
Meet the Boys of Grace Children's Home
Currently there are 14 boys living at Grace Children’s Home. They range in age from 8 to 16 and are all very active boys. Many of the boys have living parents but live as orphans because their parents cannot care for them. Some of the boys lost family members and homes in the 2010 earthquake. They have been turned over to Pastor Lesly and Grace Children’s Home to care for them. All of the boys attend school at either the Grace Assembly School or another local High School.
With each child sponsorship you will be given details about the child you are sponsoring, including birthdate, family history, and interests. If you have questions or an interest in a certain child, please forward your questions to info@haitiorphanfoundation.com.
